BJ Mumford runs a basketball training programme called Play Practise in Hampton, New Hampshire in the US. 

He was on my podcast, The Sports Business Mind as a guest and while interviewing him on the show I realised that he had the same gap as many other sports coaches I have come across. 

So after the interview, BJ enquired about the Sports Business Mentorship programme and even though he was skeptical at first, he took the leap of faith to invest in the programme. 

I realised early on that BJ is a high achiever and has build a business on values that he holds dear.  It's exactly the kind of clients I take on as I know they actually do the work and get the results they deserve. 

Using the Sports Coaching Business Formula, we got down to work.

Many entrepreneurs have blind spots. One of the biggest blindspot is their mindset. Self limiting beliefs and a lack of long term thinking actually stops anyone from achieving financial freedom. 

This is fault of theirs, its the way the society has programmed us even without us being aware of that. That's why I get everyone I work with to get their mindset right. 

Formation Of Self 
In self development, the common belief is to find out who you are. But in order to be a successful business owner my thoughts are that you need to know who you need to become in order to be successful, because if you already had the skillsets or mindset, you would already be successful. 

Success leaves clues, our job is to pick the best out there and model what's best for us. 

Creating the perfect offer
While BJ had a good business, he wasn't optimising  his great work. He wasn't dialled in on his target audience, his marketing message could improve and his pricing model could definitely do with a change. 

After getting him to come up with his "Perfect client avatar" and the his Million Dollar Message we got to work to get him to come up with his Signature solution. 

He also changed his pricing model from monthly membership payments to charging for a 90day programme upfront based on this signature solution. This was a game changer for him.
Signature Solution 
BJ had very little problem in creating his Signature solution as he had all the ideas and systems in his mind and just needed a framework to follow to unpack his genius. 


Now that he had his Signature Solution sorted it was time to create his lead magnet.
